are you interested in recording your own videos? Learn how with us.
We have arranged Creative Media skills workshops for CNU members, run by the fantastic CICS/Diamond creative media team.
They’re a great opportunity for anyone who would like to develop a bit knowledge in video production and are open to everyone (with or without previous experience). These skills could be used for university project work or to promote something you might be passionate about – just about anything you like.
For the CNU, this means that skilled members (you) will be able to make good quality recordings of lectures and interviews. These can then be published on our YouTube channel and provide us with references and information for our quest to carbon neutrality.
So! If you’re interested, please reply to this email and let us know which session you want.
They’ve been arranged in a logical sequence and each will feed into the other.
All are from 3 - 5pm!
14/2/17 Session 1: Pre-production
Taking an idea, then turning it into a plan. It’ll be a pen and paper session where we’ll cover line scripts (I don’t know either), storyboarding, shot lists and by the end of it will have come up with a story to shoot and a plan on how to film it.
16/2/17 Session 2: Video production
We get simple camcorders. We’ll learn about composition, do some filming using the plan from the last session and get some feedback.
23/2/17 Session 3: Video editing
We’ll learn about how to use Adobe Premiere to edit and export material using what we’d filmed previously.
No previous knowledge will be assumed, so don’t worry about that. Also, CICS will provide temporary logins for the creative media computers.
Please, let us know!
We got 18 spaces up for grabs.
