Dear CNU friends,
we are only 3 days away of our CNU buildings event, which will update you on how best to retrofit your home and how the University and Sheffield City region could retrofit their buildings to a future proof, highly energy efficient standard.
If you haven't registered yet, please do so via our event page through Eventbrite:
http://carbonneutralshef.weebly.com/9-nov-2016---the-future-of-buildings.html
If you can, please share the event details with your friends and family. We have 193 registered attendees so far, and we have still significant capacity left!
We got
5 really excellent speakers
a fabulous networking session with 10 exhibitors and food from the Real Junk Food project,
a panel discussion where you can ask your questions on retrofit.
Our speakers:
1. Jonathan Hines, Managing Director of Architype, Keynote: ‘Passivhaus and sustainable architecture’
2. Phil Hampshire and Austen Bates, Burohappold Engineering, Integrated design and sustainable development
3. David Tetlow, University of Nottingham, ‘Development of energy efficiency methodologies for buildings’
4. Chris Herring, Director of the Green Building Store, ‘Effective deep retrofit: risks & rewards. Three Yorkshire case studies’
5. Sofie Pelsmakers, University of Sheffield, ‘Housing Retrofit: necessity & avoiding unintended consequences’
Fionn Stevenson, head of our Sheffield School of Architecture has kindly agreed to chair the panel discussion with our speakers.
If you can help, we could still use some runners helping us with set up on the day (4-5pm) to help us with table set up and receiving speakers. Otherwise, we hope you will enjoy the sessions and networking with exhibitors, speakers, students, staff, city council and interested people from our city.
This event is open to everyone interested! Please book your free ticket via Eventbrite.
Food: Provided by the Real Junk Food project from surplus supplies.
Please check out our exhibitors for the networking event on our event page! Scroll to the end!
We already got 10 registered and if you want on-board, just email me. There is still space (I think ;).
Please find below a fantastic flyer prepared by John, one of the Sheffield School of Architecture ambassadors. So if you want to share it, please feel free. Thanks John.
Any ideas, your energy, questions - please bring it next Wednesday, 5pm, Diamond lecture theatre 1. Come an hour earlier if you need to set up or want to help.
A special thank you to our event organisers, sponsors and anybody that helped communicating.
See you next week!
Christian
